Boundary Rooftop...

Today I am sharing another amazing London restaurants with you. I wanted to write this post before summer ended because this is the perfect place for a sunny date. Boundary Rooftop is set atop the Boundary Rooms hotel in Shoreditch. It is open all year round but gets very busy in summer so book a few weeks ahead if you plan on dining here. Orrrr do what we did and join the queue downstairs.

When you join the queue you add your name to the list so you can still queue even if you leave the queue if that makes sense. We decided to head downstairs to the bar whilst we waited but were lucky enough to be called up to the roof before we even had time to order a drink!

It was a sunny evening so the rooftop was bathed in a gorgeous glow. There are trees amongst the table so you really are dining al fresco.

The menu is pretty simple which I always think is a good thing as it shows all the dishes on it are bound to be great. We went for what I think is the best value for money thing on the menu, the Plateau de fruits de mer for 2 people. Basically a giant platter of prawns, oysters, crab, clams and mussels to share between us. For £22 it was a total bargain. Alongside we got a quinoa, citrus, pomegranate and green vegetable salad.

We got a bottle of the Picpoul de Pinet as it was recommended to go with shellfish. Sitting opposite my Boy in the setting sun rays with shellfish and chilled bottle of wine you can see I am a pretty happy camper.

We took so long talking and sharing that nearly all our ice melted in the platter and started to flood the little pots of crabmeat, we soon rescued them though.

After our lovely dinner we caught the train to Waterloo to watch the Black Cat Hotel show in a circus tent on Southbank. Boy booked us the tickets for this and so I really did not know what to expect. It was amazing! Full of cabaret, fire eaters, ballerinas, jugglers and acrobats with a hilarious host thrown into the mix it truly made for a spectacular show. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to take any photos of the actual performance but I managed to sneakily take some of the tent before hand.

As you can see, it is a relatively small circus tent which means you get to sit right up next to the stage. This added to the experience because the performers interacted a lot with the audience which made everyone laugh, a lot.

If Black Cat Hotel is still on when you are reading this then I 100% urge you to go as it really topped off the night and the mix of acts ensures that everyone will find something amusing.
